Video Editor

Location: Remote

Type: Full-Time

Run It Once is looking for a Video Editor to help us produce high-quality poker content across YouTube, training, social media, and our wider marketing efforts.

We’re looking for someone who understands what makes long-form content engaging: strong pacing, knowing what to cut, knowing what to emphasize, and using graphics, footage, sound, and other elements to improve the story.

Projects can range from editing educational poker videos to course trailers, promotional campaigns, interviews, social clips, and footage captured at major poker events.

We want someone who can take relatively raw material and turn it into something polished, engaging, and ready to publish.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Edit long and short form YouTube content for the Run It Once channel.
  • Turn interviews, conversations, hand reviews, and other raw footage into engaging finished videos.
  • Make editorial decisions around pacing, structure, cuts, and what should or shouldn’t make the final video.
  • Add supporting elements including:
    • Poker hand graphics
    • On-screen text
    • B-roll
    • Screenshots and supporting imagery
    • Motion graphics
    • Music and sound design
    • Zooms, callouts, and other visual emphasis where appropriate
  • Produce course trailers, launch videos, ads, and other promotional materials.
  • Create short-form cuts and clips from longer videos for social media.
  • Work with footage captured at live poker events and turn it into finished stories, interviews, recaps, or other formats.
  • Work closely with the marketing and content teams to understand the objective behind each piece.
  • Develop repeatable editing styles and formats that make Run It Once content more recognizable.
  • Help improve our overall YouTube production quality over time.

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you have:

  • Strong experience editing YouTube or other long-form digital content.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong pacing, storytelling, and editing judgment.
  • Professional experience with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or comparable editing software.
  • Experience working with multi-camera footage, interviews, screen recordings, and different audio sources.
  • A strong understanding of audio, music, graphics, subtitles, and basic color correction.
  • The ability to work independently from a brief and make sensible editorial decisions without needing every cut prescribed.
  • An understanding of modern YouTube editing without relying on unnecessary effects or over-editing.
  • Strong organizational skills when working with large amounts of footage and project files.
  • The ability to work remotely and reliably hit deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.

Poker Knowledge

Poker knowledge is highly valuable for this role.

A significant amount of our content involves strategy, hands, players, terminology, and situations that are much easier to edit when you understand what is happening.

You don't necessarily need to be an advanced poker player, but familiarity with poker will allow you to:

  • Recognize which moments in a conversation are important.
  • Understand when a poker hand requires additional visual explanation.
  • Identify mistakes or inconsistencies before a video goes live.
  • Follow discussions involving ranges, positions, bet sizes, tournaments, cash games, and poker terminology.
  • Work significantly more independently.

Experience creating content around poker, sports, esports, gaming, or another specialist subject is a plus.

How to Apply

Send us:

  • A short introduction about yourself.
  • Your editing experience.
  • A portfolio or showreel.
  • Links to 2–3 pieces you've edited that best represent your work.
  • Any experience specifically editing for YouTube.
  • Your poker background, if any.
  • The editing software you primarily use.
  • Your current location and availability.

If possible, tell us specifically what your role was on each portfolio piece you share.

We’re particularly interested in seeing examples that demonstrate strong editorial judgment and storytelling.
