Run It Once is looking for a Social Media Manager who can take ownership of our day-to-day social presence and help us create content that actually resonates with poker players.
This is not a role where every post will come with a detailed brief.
We’re looking for someone who understands the poker ecosystem, knows what players are talking about, recognizes interesting moments when they happen, and can independently turn those moments into strong social content.
You should be comfortable making decisions, writing copy, publishing content, reacting quickly, and maintaining a consistent Run It Once voice across our channels.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the day-to-day management of Run It Once social media channels.
- Plan, write, schedule, and publish content across platforms including X, Instagram, YouTube, and others where relevant.
- Build and manage a consistent social content calendar around:
- Run It Once training content
- Course launches and promotions
- YouTube releases
- Poker news and major events
- Run It Once coaches and players
- Product updates
- Community initiatives
- Identify interesting poker conversations, hands, results, clips, memes, and industry moments that Run It Once should participate in.
- Turn long-form content into strong social posts, clips, hooks, threads, and promotional angles.
- Write social copy that feels native to poker rather than generic marketing copy.
- Work closely with our marketing, video, design, and coaching teams to bring content ideas to life.
- Brief designers and editors when additional creative assets are needed.
- Help develop recurring social formats and series that can become recognizable parts of the Run It Once brand.
- Engage with players, coaches, creators, and the wider poker community.
- Track content performance and use the results to improve what we publish.
- Test new formats, hooks, platforms, and ideas instead of simply repeating what we’ve always done.
A Big Part of the Role: Knowing Poker
For this position, poker knowledge is essential.
You should understand the broader poker ecosystem well enough to know:
- Who the important players and personalities are.
- What major tournaments and poker series matter.
- What poker players are currently talking about.
- When a hand, result, quote, controversy, or poker moment is actually interesting.
- How poker players communicate online without needing everything translated into marketing language.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, independent, and internet-native.
Ideally, you have:
- Strong knowledge of poker and the poker community.
- Experience managing social media for a brand, creator, media company, or similar project.
- Excellent written English.
- Strong instincts for hooks, headlines, captions, and short-form copy.
- A good understanding of X, Instagram, YouTube, Shorts/Reels, and modern social content.
- The ability to recognize what will make an interesting post without needing to be told.
- Experience turning long-form video or written content into short-form social content.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple releases and campaigns at once.
- Comfort working remotely and taking ownership of your responsibilities.
- A willingness to move quickly when relevant opportunities appear.
Experience with poker media, sports media, gambling, gaming, esports, creators, or other fast-moving online communities is a major plus.
How to Apply
Send us:
- A short introduction about yourself.
- Your experience working with social media.
- Your poker background and how closely you follow the poker ecosystem.
- Examples of accounts, brands, creators, or projects you've previously worked on.
- Links to content you've created or managed.
- Your current location and availability.
We’d also like you to include examples of posts you would create for Run It Once today.
They can be based on a recent poker story, one of our existing pieces of content, a poker hand, a coach, or simply an idea you think would work.
We care just as much about your judgment and understanding of poker as we do about your CV.
