Location: Remote / Travel Required
Run It Once is looking for a part-time videographer to help us capture high-quality content at major poker events and selected stops around the world.
This is a travel-based role. You won’t be filming every week, but when there’s an important poker stop, or other opportunity worth covering, we want someone who can join us on location and capture the people, stories, and moments around it.
We’re looking for someone who understands how to make content for Youtube, not just someone who can point a camera.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Travel to selected poker events and destinations to film content for Run It Once.
- Capture interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, tournament coverage, player features, short-form content, and other social-first material for Run It Once.
- Identify interesting moments and content opportunities while on location rather than relying entirely on a predetermined shot list.
- Work with the Run It Once marketing team to plan shoots and understand the content we need from each trip.
- Capture footage suitable for YouTube, Instagram, X, Shorts/Reels, advertisements, and other marketing channels.
- Handle basic lighting, audio, camera setup, and production requirements while traveling.
- Organize and deliver footage efficiently to our editing/content team.
- Depending on experience, potentially edit selected pieces of content as well.
What We’re Looking For
You should be comfortable operating independently in fast-moving environments. Poker events aren’t controlled studio shoots - schedules change, opportunities appear unexpectedly, and some of the best content happens between the things we planned to film.
Ideally, you have:
- Practical experience filming digital content.
- Experience filming interviews and people in live/event environments.
- A strong understanding of framing, lighting, audio, and visual storytelling.
- Experience creating content specifically for YouTube and social media.
- Your own camera equipment.
- The ability and flexibility to travel internationally for several days at a time.
- Good instincts for recognizing interesting moments and turning them into content.
Poker Knowledge Is a Major Plus
You don’t need to be an advanced poker player, but understanding poker and the poker world is highly valuable for this role.
Knowing who the players are, understanding what’s happening during an event, and being able to have a natural conversation with poker players makes it much easier to recognize what is actually worth filming.
Experience working within poker, gambling, sports, esports, or another personality-driven industry would be particularly relevant.
The Type of Content You Might Film
One trip could include:
- Following a Run It Once coach during a major tournament series.
- Quick interviews immediately after an interesting tournament hand or deep run.
- Longer-form conversations with Run It Once pros.
- Behind-the-scenes footage from player dinners, preparation, or study sessions.
- Short-form clips designed specifically for social media.
- Promotional footage for Run It Once courses and products.
How to Apply
Send us:
- A short introduction about yourself.
- Your location.
- A portfolio, showreel, or examples of your previous work.
- Any relevant experience filming events, sports, poker, for YouTube or social content.
- Your experience with poker, if any.
- The equipment you typically work with.
- Your general availability and ability to travel internationally.
If there’s a particular piece of work in your portfolio that best represents what you could bring to Run It Once, point us toward that too.
